Columbus AIRPLANE tubes made in aluminium alloy 7005 T6 (heat treated), with triple thickness. The down tube comes from a Ø48, NO FLEX – SUPERSECTION and together with the top tube with XLR8R shape and the seat tube oversize Ø35, increase the lateral stiffness of the frame at the BB shell and the front stiffness at the head tube. The rear stay is the Columbus Carve, the curved carbon seat stay and the carbon single plug chain stay, both very stiff laterally to increase the stability during sudden turns and decrease the lateral deformation during the pedaling. The single plug BB shell is in aluminum CNC machined, with the chain stay axis lowered respect the center of the BB shell. The sand watch shape head tube Ø50, increases the front stiffness of the frame. Dropouts: aluminum CNC machined with con interchangeable hanger.
